Chinese attempts at persuasion randomly shift focus due to Confucius
Have you ever found Chinese attempts at persuasion (狡辩 jiǎobiàn) unconvincing?
Chinese have been conditioned that it is prudent to deflect blame from oneself, even before it has been assigned to them.
It's a reflex mechanism.
It is also normal for them to attempt to persuade others based on their 'Perception' of what is valuable or meaningful.
However, since they generally lack the 'Empathy' necessary to overcome the objections already in the minds of those they aim to convince, it often leads to a circular conversation.
In their Confucian-influenced 'Hierarchical' mindset, persuasion isn't necessary for leadership. Instead, it is finding the right words to frighten, dissuade, and pressure.
This is how most Chinese were raised, which is exhibited most prominently in their 'Haggling' culture.
